Reboot

I started this website about two years ago, in 2021. As a young bright-eyed patient with Systemic Mastocytosis that had recently become bedridden I had a million ideas to try and give back to the community that had helped me for years, but one of it went according to plan.

At the end of April 2021, I reluctantly resigned from a career I worked extremely hard to establish and grow for years. Mast cell diseases affect every organ and system in the body and the symptoms are not only debilitating, but often can be deadly. I was barely holding onto my employment when the pandemic hit. I ended up catching COVID three times in the first year. I was constantly in and out of the hospital with week+ stays and I was in so much pain that I could rarely leave my bed. Eventually I exhausted FMLA and decided to take time to focus on my health.

I was almost completely bedridden for the first few months and that was extremely boring. I’ve never been the type to sit still so I came up with a few ideas to create resources and give back. Unfortunately, my mind and body didn’t want to cooperate, and I was never able to finish my ideas.

With a very happy heart I am now able to start working on resources. I still struggle every day. I learn much slower than others due to brain fog and pain doesn’t allow me to work for very long each day. But I can start and that makes my heart glow.

Along with restarting my mast cell blog I’m planning to restart this website with bare bones basics. My first idea is to collect and publish a list of every mast cell resource I can find. Then likely a list of quality items that can be purchased online, and then links to the cheapest common medicines available. The sky is the limit after that, but I’ve spent two years allowing the search for perfection to ruin the good.

Thank you for all of your support,
